Welcome
GeoLab
is a Colorado-based GeoSpatial consulting and software development
firm. We serve clients across the globe in GeoSpatial
software design, development, and deployment.
GeoLab Wind Systems involves a series of primarily Silverlight demos
from the software development arm of GeoLab. Two of the chief
technologies GeoLab has been focusing on include: the more advanced 1.0
Silverlight control from ESRI, and the Microsoft Bing control for
Silverlight which is still in Beta. Two demonstrations using these
controls are available from GeoLab, and are constantly being updated on
an Agile Development schedule. These demonstrations utilize NREL 50
meter wind data, FEMA electric transmission data, BLM land ownership
data, GAP protected areas data, and other layers that apply to the
overall project goal of wind suitability for an area. We are in the
process of adding REST/WCF services, GeoRSS, Address Searches, WMS
overlays, and other controls to demonstrate the power of Silverlight.

The
following Microsoft Silverlight® Wind Applications are currently
under development:

ArcGIS®
Demo: Recently released, 1.0 Silverlight for ArcGIS, is the
most advanced GIS Silverlight control available. It has been released
as an API option for ArcGIS Server, but is generic enough to be
integrated with PostGIS, GeoWebCache, GeoServer and Open Street Maps.
It can be seen here.

Bing Maps® Demo: The CTP (Community
Technology Preview) was released in March, 2009. It is an emerging
option to the Bing Maps AJAX API, and utilizes all the same 2D datasets
available for that API. Rumor has it that Bing Maps Silverlight API
will be finalized in the fall of 2009. Launch
